Crowns In a Nutshell

A crown is a robust dental restoration that fixes moderate or severe instances of decay, dental trauma, infection, or tooth wear. Here at Lakewood Dental, our crowns are true works of art, but we don’t compromise aesthetics for functionality.

Your crown will be designed to withstand every single day-to-day challenge faced by your mouth and jaw. It will be strong, natural-looking and feel just like real tooth enamel. We match the shade of your crown to your existing tooth shade, so no one will know your new crown isn’t a real tooth.

Why Our Patients Love Bespoke Crowns

  • Restabilises chewing function.
  • The affected tooth will look natural again.
  • Strong and durable solution.
  • Protects a weakened tooth after a dental infection, injury or tooth wear.
  • Covers up imperfections.
  • Enhances your confidence.

Your Patient Journey

Examination
Your dentist will examine the condition of your teeth and diagnose the need for a crown. They will talk you through the choice of materials available, and the advantages and characteristics of each. We offer 0% finance to help you spread the cost of treatment if you would like to opt for a premium material but cannot commit to this financially in a single payment.

Your dentist will take digital impressions, X-rays, and clinical photos of your mouth.

Tooth Preparation
The gum surrounding the tooth and socket is numbed with local anaesthetic for your comfort. Your dentist will remove the decay and shape the tooth so it can receive the crown at a later appointment.

A digital scan of your tooth is sent away to the dental technician, who creates your crown according to precise measurements and shade specifications. A temporary crown is placed.

Your New Crown
Your temporary crown is replaced with your new bespoke crown. Your dentist will make a series of detailed checks before adhering it in position, making sure your teeth bite together correctly. In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with the shade, we can make adjustments and fit it at a later appointment.

Our Promise

When you choose Lakewood Dental for your cosmetic dental treatment, you are putting your oral care in the hands of professionals who truly love what they do.
