Consultation
Your dentist assesses your smile to ensure you are medically fit for treatment with a dental bridge. This involves thoroughly examining the teeth which will receive the crowns. Should your dentist find that these are not compatible with supporting bridges, we may suggest tooth replacement with dentures (which do not need the support of existing teeth).
Dental X-rays and digital impressions are taken. These are then used by our skilled dental technician to produce your bespoke bridgework.
Preparation
Your teeth are prepared to receive the bridge. Local anaesthetic is administered to ensure you are comfortable. We will then remove a small portion of natural tooth enamel prior to placing the bridge. This practice accommodates the crowns, so that they are the same thickness as your existing natural teeth. A temporary bridge is fitted whilst you wait for your long-term bridge to be ready.
Fitting your bespoke bridge
Your temporary bridge is replaced with your long-term bridge. Your dentist will carry out a series of checks to ensure your teeth bite together comfortably. Once you and your dentist are happy with the fit and feel of the bridge, we can cement it in place.
