Our Promise
When you choose Lakewood Dental for your routine dental care, you are putting your oral care in the hands of professionals who truly care about your physical and mental well-being.
Our private dental practice offers value for money when it comes to your dental care, but never, ever, any compromise on quality.
We immerse ourselves in what we do, using much of our time outside of work studying to advance our clinical skills (you could call us dentist geeks!).
We believe in continuously finding treatment methods that make life easier for our patients. Ultimately, making our patients happy is the foundation of what we do and why we do what we do.
At each of your routine dentist appointments, your dentist will give you a projection for the life of your restoration. This way, you will know when you should have it replaced and before any destructive dental issues like decay, fractures and gum disease can occur, deteriorating the tooth.
Your Patient Journey
New Patients
If you are a new patient of the practice, we will ask you to fill out a consultation form, including information about your medical background.
Your dentist will invite you into one of our state-of-the-art surgery rooms and have an informal chat with you about your dental history and any hang-ups you have with your teeth.
We are fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know you and your clinical needs and smile goals – your appointment will never be rushed.
Your dentist will take a set of dental X-rays and recommend when your next hygienist appointment should be based on an examination of your gums.
Routine Check-up
Once you have become a part of the Lakewood Dental family, we will strive to do everything we can to address developing problems with your teeth and offer preventive advice that will play a pivotal part in stopping dental issues in their tracks.
We want to help you keep the possibility of dental issues emerging to a minimum so that you don’t have to come in for many restorative treatment sessions.
If this does indeed become the case, rest assured you are in the hands of consummate professionals who will be there to treat and support you at every stage of your journey to a healthier smile.
FAQs
How long will my appointment take?
Our dental check-ups are generally between 30-60 minutes, and new patient exams can be a little longer, as we may need to ask you a few questions to gain a thorough understanding of your oral health status.
During a new patient exam, your dentist will gain an in-depth understanding of your dental and hygiene status.
How often do I need to attend routine check-ups?
Once we have assessed your risk factors for conditions such as decay, dental infections, mouth cancer and gum disease, we can recommend how often to come in for routine dentist and hygienist check-ups.
Generally, we advise that patients with average risk factors attend dentist and hygienist check-ups every 6-12 months.
